Kids Day at MoBo!
Every Monday is Kids Day at MoBo Bicycle Co-op in Northside!
Kids can come learn to fix their bikes and enjoy bike-related programming all year long. Kids will sign up for a free annual youth membership, which includes one free used bike a year to learn to fix and maintain. Members can then come to the co-op year-round to repair their bikes, learn mechanical skills, and help other kids learn to use tools.
Do it yourself: MoBo is not a "free bike giveaway," but a space for youth to repair and reuse secondhand bikes with the support of volunteer mechanics.
Kids Day is first-come-first-served and we generally stop taking new projects an hour before close. If you're coming for a bike, arrive early and expect to spend at least one hour learning to fix it. Come in throughout the night with repairs and projects. Kids Day utilizes 5 workbenches, 2 tool buckets, and at least 3 mechanics.
Youth Membership: Sign up in-person or online or a free youth membership, which is good for the calendar year. A youth membership always includes one free used bike, along with locks, lights, and adjustable helmets as long as funding allows.
