Adams to the lows of the river valley. Climbs (steeper than +4% grade): - Delta (~1.4 mi; max ~4% grade) - Red Bank Rd (~0.5 mi; max ~7% grade) - Robison Rd (~0.3 mi; max ~4% grade) Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade): - Lester Road (~1.2 mi; max neg 4-5% grade) as we head out of Pleasant Ridge - Intermittent stretches of Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Ave (~0.5 mi total; max neg 4-5% grade) - Monastery! (~0.5 mi; max neg -12% grade) Traffic stress: - ~80% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths Higher-stress areas: - The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). The multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on weekends, and our presence as a group will all help to reduce the stress in this section. - The second busiest traffic areas will be the pedal along Riverside Drive and the climb up Delta. The bike lanes and frequent presence of cyclists on these streets help to keep the traffic stress at a moderate level.
