Ride Pleasant Streets - Sunday Long Edition

7:00PM, Sunday September 17th - Add to Calendar
Community Happens Here, 6238 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45213, USA

Join us on Sunday, Sept 17 @ 3:00 PM as we enjoy a pedal through the Beechmont Bridge Connector. Can you believe it’s been one year since the connector opened? Let's celebrate the anniversary of this major improvement to our region’s bike infrastructure!

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER HERE (25 riders max) after reading the event details. Note: Pre-registration helps us with safe and smooth ride management, so please do this if you can. However, don’t avoid coming just because your schedule had been uncertain. You can also register on-site—just be extra sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early.

Departure Time: 3:00pm
- Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here
- Ride leaders will be there by 2:45pm to answer any questions

Distance: 24.9 miles Difficulty:
- Advanced Beginner and above
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

Terrain:
- The route is a mix of flat and rolling, with two notable climbs and a long, gentle descent down Camargo.

Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):
- Delta (~1.4 mi; max ~4% grade)
- Lester Avenue (~1 mi; 4-5% grade)—on our way back to Pleasant Ridge

Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Wooster Pike (~0.4 mi; max neg 5% grade)—as we roll from Mariemont toward Newtown

Traffic stress:
- ~80% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be on Euclid as we head toward Madeira. This is an unfortunate example of a pinch point where there is no alternative route across I-71. We will take the lane and stay alert.
- The second busiest area will be rolling down Wooster Pike toward the Little Miami Trailhead. We will take the lane, stay alert, and maintain good speed due to the downhill gradient. The lower, flat portion of Wooster Pike includes a bike lane.

Post-ride:
- Spontaneous post-ride plans are welcome!
- We should be done with the ride by about 6:00pm.

- Community Happens Here asks that if at all possible, we do NOT use their parking lot during our events.
