Come join us on Sunday, Feb. 20 @ 2:00 PM for a pedal to Wyoming! Where else but in Ohio can you bike for 15 miles and visit another state? 😉
During this ride we will also enjoy the neighborhoods of Golf Manor, Roselawn, Hartwell, Carthage, Bond Hill, Norwood... and of course our own beautiful Pleasant Ridge.
Along with low-stress streets and terrain that is predominantly flat to rolling, this particular route will introduce you to some key bike connectors from Pleasant Ridge. Once you know how to ride comfortably to Wyoming, Carthage, or Bond Hill, you can use these as gateways to explore further beyond!
During this event we will stay nestled in the valleys, but on future rides later this summer we will use some of these same roads as a base to venture further out into the hills—to areas like Winton Woods, North College Hill, and maybe even Northside.
Thanks to the support of queencitybike.org, you can navigate this route for free on the Ride with GPS app at any time!
Route preview: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38510265
Distance: 15.2 miles
Difficulty: Beginner-friendly. We will regroup as needed.
Terrain: Predominantly flat to rolling. The one notable climb is the gradual ascent up Montgomery Road (in the bike lane) on our way back up to Pleasant Ridge.
Street features: >90% of the ride will be on very low-traffic streets.
The busier areas will be when we ride through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery), and when we cruise down Losantiville Ave and South Anthony Wayne. On a Sunday afternoon, however, the traffic volume will be relatively light, so these sections will still be very manageable.
We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable.
