The time is always right to bring more love and community support into the world—now more than ever. Our beautiful friends in Northside have created two special events to lift up our neighbors and care for our planet. Gather up your items and your good spirits this Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 as we pedal from PR to Northside to expand the love connection.
First up is the
Winter Coat Drive at SPUN Bicycles. Round up those gently used jackets, warm hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, and cozy base layers. Most of us have at least one or two of these items lingering in closets and drawers—instead of on bodies where they belong. We can fix this!
Second up is
MoBo's Bike Tire & Tube Recycling collection! By partnering with the
Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub, MoBo is helping us make sure these long-lived materials are properly recycled into useful products. This is a very special opportunity to recycle these items for free! Let's give our Mother Earth the love she deserves.
Bring your items to our start point at
Community Happens Here. Carry what you can! Fraser and I will pack up our panniers and bike trailer with all the rest. Let's add some light and love to this world together. 🚲💕
To help us with planning and quick check-ins, please PRE-REGISTER HERE 🙌
You can also register on-site if preferred. The ride is FREE! At Queen City Bike, creating a caring community is a core value. Your registration enables us to reach you and your important people if needed, and also provide you with $10K of supplemental medical insurance. We've got you covered so you can focus on the bike joy!

Departure Time: 2:00pm
- Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here
- Ride leaders will be there by 1:45pm to answer any questions
Distance: 22 miles
Difficulty:
- Advanced Beginner and above
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride
Terrain:
- Predominantly rolling with a couple moderate climbs and a fun, twisty descent.
Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):
- Middleton Ave (~0.5 mi; max 5% grade)
- Montgomery Road as we head back to Pleasant Ridge (~0.6 mi; max ~4.5-5% grade).
Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Lester Road (~1.2 mi; max neg 4-5% grade)

Traffic stress:
- ~80% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths
Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). The multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on weekends, and our presence as a group will all help to reduce the stress in this section.
- Other busy areas will be near the UC campus; rolling down Ludlow; and one block of Winton Road.
Post-ride:
- Let’s gather at
Nine Giant after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 5:00pm.

- Community Happens Here asks that if at all possible, we do NOT use their parking lot during our events.
