Join Tri-State Trails, Councilmember Mark Jeffreys, and other community trailbuilders in commemorating the installation of trail lighting along Wasson Way Phase 6A! Meet at Listermann Brewery with your walking shoes and/or bicycle and helmet at 7:00 PM for a 7:30 PM departure. Then, walk or ride along Wasson Way Phase 6A to Blair Court to see the lighting illuminated for the first time.

Join us on Saturday, Apr. 6 @ 2:00 PM as we explore Quiet neighborhood streets, a Calm street design on Blue Ash Road, and a few "secret" bike/ped-only paths that make our journey Connected. During our ride we will visit a diverse collection of schools, parks, and retail... all accessible by bike!

This is a beginner-friendly route that takes advantage of the bike lane on Montgomery Road and quiet neighborhood streets. Newer riders will also enjoy the mild terrain—no big climbs and one of our gentlest routes yet!

Distance: 11.5 miles

Difficulty:
- Mid-level Beginners and above
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- Route is not suitable for young children, but may be a good match for proficient teenagers (per discretion of parents)
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

Terrain:
- Predominantly flat to rolling

Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):
- Climbs: There are no major climbs on this route. The steepest uphill section is about a 3.2% grade.

Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- There are no major descents on this route.

Traffic stress:
- ~90% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding between Pleasant Ridge and Silverton on Montgomery Road. Except for ~3 blocks, all of this stretch will be in the bike lane.
- There will be a couple street crossings and turns that will require good attention and communication within the group. These are important and normal bike riding skills to develop!
- We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable

Post-ride:
- Let’s gather at <a href="https://www.ninegiant.com/brewpub" target="_blank">Nine Giant</a> after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 4:00pm.

Every Monday is Kids Day at MoBo Bicycle Co-op in Northside! Kids can come learn to fix their bikes and enjoy bike-related programming all year long. Each participant will receive a free used bike and learn how to fix and maintain it! This event is geared towards people aged 5-16.

The UC Bike Kitchen’s 8th Annual Bike Show! The revival of this event last year went great and we are looking forward to building on that this year with another celebration of bicycle culture, safety, and overall transportation importance.


The Urban Basin Bicycle Club is for those bicyclists interested in riding in the Urban Basin, such as downtown, OTR, Northern Kentucky and the Mill Creek Valley, exploring sights and scenery along the way. 

Some rides are themed (e.g. breweries, art deco etc.) and others are just rambling. Then we will rotate among various bars for a “debrief.” Sound good? 

Invite anyone and everyone. We meet on 1st and 3rd Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm at the Washington Park gazebo. Follow the Facebook page for details.

“This is the Ohio” Documentary - Cincinnati Premiere

Mostly rolling with a few short hills in the range of 5-7% grade; plus the longer climb up Montgomery on our way home

Climbs (longer than 0.5 mi and steeper than +4% grade):
- Montgomery Road as we head back to Pleasant Ridge (~0.6 mi; max ~4.5-5% grade)

Descents (longer than 0.5 mi and steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Lester Road (~1.2 mi; max neg 4-5% grade)

Traffic stress:
- ~90% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). The multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on weekends, and our presence as a group will all help to reduce the stress in this section.
- Additional busier areas will be around the UC campus. We will take advantage of some off-street options to reduce traffic pressure in key areas. 
- We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable

Post-ride:

Ride Pleasant Streets - 3rd Saturday Long Edition

A second public meeting has been scheduled by DOTE to share information on the preferred trail alignment and to update the community on the status of the project. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 6:30-8:30pm in the Oyler School cafeteria, 2121 Hatmaker St, Cincinnati, 45204. Stop by any time to learn about the possible trail alignments and give us your input. 

Once completed, the Ohio River Trail will span 23 miles along the north bank of the Ohio River from Coney Island through Downtown to Sayler Park. The trail will enhance quality of life and connect our neighborhoods to Downtown and the world-class Cincinnati Riverfront Park.

Can't attend? More information and a public input survey for this project will be posted at <a href="http://bit.ly/3K8I7wH" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/3K8I7wH</a> after the meeting. Survey will be open until May 23, 2024.
