We'll stay close to home and ramble along the ridgetop, exploring peaceful and beautiful streets in Pleasant Ridge, as well as those nearby in Kennedy Heights, Silverton, and Golf Manor.

**Departure Time: 10:00am** *(← Please note the earlier start time!)*
- Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here
- Ride leaders will be there by 9:45am to answer any questions

**Distance: 15 miles**

**Difficulty:**
- **Mid-level Beginners and above**
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- Route is not suitable for young children, but may be a good match for proficient teenagers (per discretion of parents)
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

**Terrain:**
- Predominantly flat to rolling

*Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):*
- Tulane/Montgomery (~0.3 mi; max ~4.5% grade)
- Pandora (~0.3 mi; max ~4% grade)

*Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):*
- Robison (~0.3 mi; max neg 5.5% grade)

**Traffic stress:**
- >90% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets

*Higher-stress areas:*
- This route is almost entirely on quiet streets (or streets with bike lanes). HOWEVER, there will be three situations where we will turn right onto a busier non-bike-lane street (Ridge or Losantiville), roll downhill for half a block, and then turn left. We will be able to choose our moment to turn onto the busier street, we will be carrying good speed, and we will take the lane to control traffic behind us. Taken together, this provides for a manageable situation, but I do want to mention just so everyone is aware of this aspect of the route.

**Post-ride:**
- Let's gather at <a href="https://www.ninegiant.com/brewpub" target="_blank">Nine Giant</a> after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 11:45am.

- Abundant FREE parking is located at the Pleasant Ridge Community Parking Lot, behind the Walgreens at 6204 Montgomery Road. This is ONE block from Community Happens Here.

Ride Pleasant Streets - 1st Saturday Short Edition

Discover ride led by Ride the Cov.  ——— Dates: 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from November to April (yes, we are riding through the winter! 😁) Time/Place: Winter rides happen November, February and March on the 2nd and 4th Saturday. We gather at the Goosegirl fountain at 2pm. Distance: 7-10 Miles (we’ll take it easy on the hills) Time required: About 1.75 Hours Who: You and whoever you invite? It's better to ride together. We’ll have people there a lil' early to do a quick safety check and pump up tires should you need. Other details: - Helmets strongly suggested - We’ll be riding in a group—not experienced in this, no problem. Just follow directions that we’ll share before the ride. - Parking (paid) is available in the MainStrasse Village Parking lot. - Free Parking is available under the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge or in Theatre House’s Parking Lot. The goals of our rides are simple: Get people on bicycles, have fun, be safe and see Covington from two wheels. Ride Pleasant Streets meets on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month at Community Happens Here in Pleasant Ridge. We gather at 1:45 p.m.; share a route overview and safety talk at 2:00 p.m.; and wheels are rolling by 2:05 p.m. Riders from all over the metro area are welcome! 
 
These are welcoming rides with an emphasis on group ride etiquette, bike skill development, community building, and neighborhood exploration. The "1st Saturday Short" rides are <15 miles, and the "3rd Saturday Long" rides are generally 15-25 miles. 
 
Routes are varied each month. They are designed to take advantage of low-stress streets, bike lanes, and shared-use paths as much as possible. Route details are shared in advance (~2-5 days) so you can decide if the ride will be a good fit for your fitness and experience level.
