We will be riding up Sycamore street from Liberty downtown, and through a 5 mile loop, up to 20 times until we get to a century! Ride the loop as many times as you can or until you get bored! - Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here
- Ride leaders will be there by 1:45pm to answer any questions

**Distance: 18 miles**

**Difficulty:**
- **Advanced Beginner and above**
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

**Terrain:**
Mostly rolling with a couple bigger hills in the range of 5-7% grade

*Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):*
- Waxwing Drive between Hunt and Lobelia (~0.5 mi; max 5% grade)
- Cooper Road (on multi-use path) + part of Carpenter Run (~0.6 mi; max 5% grade)

*Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):*
- Waxwing Drive between Eldora and Hunt (~0.3 mi; max neg 7% grade)

**Traffic stress:**
- ~90% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths

*Higher-stress areas:*
- The busiest area will be riding between Pleasant Ridge and Silverton on Montgomery Road on our way out, and through the center of Pleasant Ridge on our way to the finish at Nine Giant. Except for ~5 blocks, all of this stretch will be in the bike lane.
- We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable

**Post-ride:**
- Let's gather at <a href="https://www.ninegiant.com/brewpub" target="_blank">Nine Giant</a> after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 4:30pm.

We’ll have people there a lil' early to do a quick safety check and pump up tires should you need. Pedals & Preservation - Bike Month Edition

Ride Pleasant Streets meets on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month at Community Happens Here in Pleasant Ridge. We gather at 1:45 p.m.; share a route overview and safety talk at 2:00 p.m.; and wheels are rolling by 2:05 p.m. Riders from all over the metro area are welcome! 
 
These are welcoming rides with an emphasis on group ride etiquette, bike skill development, community building, and neighborhood exploration. The "1st Saturday Short" rides are <15 miles, and the "3rd Saturday Long" rides are generally 15-25 miles. 
 
Routes are varied each month. They are designed to take advantage of low-stress streets, bike lanes, and shared-use paths as much as possible. Route details are shared in advance (~2-5 days) so you can decide if the ride will be a good fit for your fitness and experience level.
