The Urban Basin Bicycle Club is for those bicyclists interested in riding in the Urban Basin, such as downtown, OTR, Northern Kentucky and the Mill Creek Valley, exploring sights and scenery along the way. 

Some rides are themed (e.g. breweries, art deco etc.) and others are just rambling. Then we will rotate among various bars for a “debrief.” Sound good?

Join The Westwood Civic Association on a slow bicycle ride through Westwood. We will ride 2-4 miles which you can plan to take around 30 minutes. All ages are welcome! Meet at Town Hall at 6:30 pm. This event will take place once a month on the 1st Tuesday.

This month, we’re celebrating Earth Day, springtime, and the exhibition Cycle Thru! The Art of the Bike. Create art with MoBo Bicycle Collective and Visionaries + Voices or make music using everyday materials with Band in a Bus. Plan your next bike route with Tri-State Trails, see art bikes up close, and use recycled materials to make creative treasures. Plus, see the Cycle Thru! exhibition for free! 

The "1st Saturday" ride for April has been canceled, but we are working to line up a ride leader for the "3rd Saturday" ride late this month. Hope to see you! Ride Pleasant Streets meets on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month at Community Happens Here in Pleasant Ridge. We gather at 1:45 p.m.; share a route overview and safety talk at 2:00 p.m.; and wheels are rolling by 2:05 p.m. Riders from all over the metro area are welcome! These are welcoming rides with an emphasis on group ride etiquette, bike skill development, community building, and neighborhood exploration. The "1st Saturday Short" rides are <15 miles, and the "3rd Saturday Long" rides are generally 15-25 miles. Routes are varied each month. They are designed to take advantage of low-stress streets, bike lanes, and shared-use paths as much as possible. Route details are shared in advance (~2-5 days) so you can decide if the ride will be a good fit for your fitness and experience level. Every Monday is Kids Day at MoBo Bicycle Co-op in Northside! Kids can come learn to fix their bikes and enjoy bike-related programming all year long. Each participant will receive a free used bike and learn how to fix and maintain it! This event is geared towards people aged 5-16.

MoBo/TST Winter Workshop - pop-up bike shop orientation!

Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub is partnering with Hamilton County Resource, Mobo Bicycle Coop, and Queen City Bike for a special collection of bicycles, bike tires, and tubes for reuse and recycling.

Donated bicycles, helmets, parts, and tools will be directed to MoBo Bicycle Co-op for their youth cycling programs, and to Queen City Bike for their Mobility Together program.

And for your old bicycle tires and tubes, Hamilton County Resource is covering the fees for recycling on this special amnesty day!

About MoBo:

MoBo Bicycle Coop is a volunteer coop that works to teach children and adults how to fix their own bicycles using recycled parts diverted from landfills. Bikes and parts donated will, depending on size and condition, be used to teach children and teens bike repair and be taken home for free, stripped into parts and recycled onto other bikes, or shined up for our annual bike sale!

About Queen City Bike:

Queen City Bike's Mobility Together is a program that empowers newly arrived refugees with bikes for transportation—while sharing in bike repair skills and community along the way.

Bikes are liberating and helpful in countless ways, from enabling time-efficient travel to essential destinations like ESL classes and asylum appointments; to transport of groceries and household supplies; to expansion of community joy and growth.

A bike donated to Mobility Together is guaranteed to be ridden, used, loved, and appreciated. They'll accept bikes that are old or new; bikes from Walmart, specialty shops, or anything in between; bikes that are big or little; and even bikes that are broken. Two wheels good. Parts and wheels are also accepted. They will refurbish and fix what they can, and any unusable items will be recycled at the Hub.

Join us for our first ride of the year—a bike tour of alleys in the neighborhoods of Downtown/CBD, Queensgate, Lower Price Hill, and West End. We love collaborating with Spring in Our Steps to show folks new routes and wonders all over the region. Their work (for 13 years!) has been critical to restoring and maintaining public stairways and alleys all over Cincinnati! Alley Rondé Micro-Ride - Downtown/Queensgate/LPH

Join us on Saturday, Apr. 19 @ 2:00 PM as we pedal to Madisonville and Mariemont to revel in the wondrous color and glow of springtime in these beautiful neighborhoods. Along the way back to Pleasant Ridge, we'll also get to enjoy the Wasson Way!

Departure Time: 2:00pm
- Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here
- Ride leaders will be there by 1:45pm to answer any questions

Distance: 18.4 miles

Difficulty:
- Advanced Beginner and above
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

Terrain:
- Predominantly flat to rolling, with two notable climbs and one long descent.

Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):
- The fun serpentine where the Wasson Way trailhead winds west into Ault Park (~0.2 mi; max 4% grade)
- Lester Avenue (~1 mi; max 4-5% grade). On our way back to Pleasant Ridge.

Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Stewart Avenue (~1mi; max neg 5% grade)—as we head out of Pleasant Ridge

Traffic stress:
- ~95% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). The multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on weekends, and our presence as a group will all help to reduce the stress in this section.
- The lower section of Stewart Road (south of the Mini dealership) has a one long curve where drivers sometimes get impatient. Good alertness and group communication will counteract this.
- We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable

Post-ride:
- Let’s gather at <a href="https://www.ninegiant.com/brewpub" target="_blank">Nine Giant</a> after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 5:00pm.
