Every Monday is Kids Day at MoBo Bicycle Co-op in Northside! Kids can come learn to fix their bikes and enjoy bike-related programming all year long. Each participant will receive a free used bike and learn how to fix and maintain it! This event is geared towards people aged 5-16.

Pedestrian safety has been a focal point of public concern for Cincinnati City Council to address after undergoing a year in which 305 pedestrians were struck in vehicular incidents and seven were fatally injured.
Councilman Mark Jeffreys is gathering national experts to host the first-ever “Safer Streets Now” Pedestrian Safety Forum to engage local citizens in a discussion on best practices to resolve pedestrian safety in Cincinnati.
Every neighborhood deserves safe, walkable streets. The time is NOW to walk what we talk when discussing pedestrian safety.

There are several route options in Scioto Trail SP (see below for two options) More routes  are available in the Ride with GPS Club Account powered by Paradise Garage. Come join us on Sunday, Mar. 20 @ 2:00 PM to explore bike connections from Pleasant Ridge to Madisonville, the Murray Path, and the beautiful Wasson Way! This route includes a fun mix of trails, low-stress streets, one long descent, and one long, satisfying, and manageable climb. We will also pedal through—or close to—areas with numerous dining and retail establishments. Route preview:&nbsp;<a href="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38712496">https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38712496</a> ----- Distance:&nbsp;14.5 miles Difficulty: - Beginner-friendly - All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills - Route is not suitable for young children, but may be a good match for proficient teenagers (per discretion of parents) - We will regroup as needed throughout the ride Terrain: - Predominantly flat to rolling - Climbs: The one notable ascent is the pedal up Lester Road on our way back to Pleasant Ridge. The steepest part of Lester is about a 4.5% grade. - Descents: On our way out, we will have a long, relatively gentle descent down Stewart Road. This is a manageable grade (4-5%) and a fun downhill for building your confidence! Traffic stress: - &gt;90% of the ride will be on low-traffic streets and shared-use trails - The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). Although some traffic stress will be present in this section, the multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on Sunday afternoons, and our presence as a group will all help to keep it at a reasonable level. - The lower section of Stewart Road (south of the Mini dealership) has a one long curve where drivers sometimes get impatient. Good alertness and group communication will counteract this. - We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable ----- Safety Notes: - Helmets required - Bike must be in good working condition. - If you have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, please plan to wear a mask during the ride Weather Notes: - In the event of adverse weather, I will post an update on the day of the ride—at or before noon - Updates will be shared on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/296259452622969/" id="ow810" __is_owner="true">Facebook event page</a>, and also via the <a href="https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/ride-pleasant-streets" id="ow829" __is_owner="true">Google Group</a> - No message means the ride is still on!
