An inclusive group ride for folks and bikes of all kinds! We'll roll around the urban basin with routes that focus on calm streets, local knowledge, and building confident ridership.
8-12mph avg, conversational pace, less than 20 miles, never too much climbing. No drop, very supportive, refreshments at Wooden Cask Brewery afterward. Meet at Trailhead Coffee inside Reser Bicycle. Parking is available at the National Band and Tag lot on Seventh or Wooden Cask Brewery on York. Roll out at 6:15pm, please arrive a little early. The Urban Basin Bicycle Club is for those bicyclists interested in riding in the Urban Basin, such as downtown, OTR, Northern Kentucky and the Mill Creek Valley, exploring sights and scenery along the way. 

Some rides are themed (e.g. breweries, art deco etc.) and others are just rambling. Then we will rotate among various bars for a “debrief.” Sound good?

- Please plan to arrive early so we can all leave in a punctual fashion
- We will meet in front of Community Happens Here

Distance: 14.3 miles

Difficulty:
- Mid-level Beginners and above
- All riders should be comfortable with basic bike-handling and traffic skills
- Route is not suitable for young children, but may be a good match for proficient teenagers (per discretion of parents)
- We will regroup as needed throughout the ride

Terrain:
Predominantly flat to rolling.

Climbs (steeper than +4% grade):
There are no major climbs on this route. The steepest uphill section (3.1% grade) is part of the roller on Wicklow Avenue. (A "roller" means you get to blast downhill and build speed that helps carry you up the following climb! 😁)

Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Robison Road (~0.4 mi; max neg ~5% grade) as we head out of Pleasant Ridge

Traffic stress:
- ~85% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding between Pleasant Ridge and Silverton. Except for ~2 blocks, all of this stretch will be in the bike lane.
- We will be there to share traffic tips and help you feel comfortable

Post-ride:
- Let’s gather at <a href="https://www.ninegiant.com/brewpub" target="_blank">Nine Giant</a> after the ride!
- We should be done with the ride by about 4:00pm.

Alley Ronde Micro Ride: Camp Washington & Northside Alleys!

Join key staff from Cincinnati's DOTE for an Open House  to learn about the Gilbert Avenue Complete Street project and see the latest design options.

This project aims to calm traffic and increase safety and comfort for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers. The project will right-size the street, add protected bike lanes, and reduce the length of key pedestrian crossings between Court Street and MLK Drive.

These improvements will increase safety for ALL users navigating this key transportation corridor connecting the Walnut Hills neighborhood to downtown Cincinnati.

Cincinnati's biggest BRIGHT Ride—kicking off <a href="https://www.blinkcincinnati.com/" target="_blank">BLINK 2024</a> with a pedal-powered, smiling people, sparkly spectacle.

Open to everyone—all ages and abilities. The ride is free! All people-powered wheels are welcome, including bikes, skates, blades, and boards. The Bright Ride is a <a href="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48782362" target="_blank">short, flat, fun route</a> around Over-the-Rhine and the central urban basin.

- Red Bank Rd (~0.5 mi; max ~7% grade)
- Robison Rd (~0.3 mi; max ~4% grade)

Descents (steeper than neg 4% grade):
- Lester Road (~1.2 mi; max neg 4-5% grade) as we head out of Pleasant Ridge
- Intermittent stretches of Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Ave (~0.5 mi total; max neg 4-5% grade)
- Monastery! (~0.5 mi; max neg -12% grade)

Traffic stress:
- ~80% of this ride will be on low-traffic streets and multi-use paths

Higher-stress areas:
- The busiest area will be riding through the center of Pleasant Ridge (on Montgomery). The multiple traffic lights, the lower traffic volume on weekends, and our presence as a group will all help to reduce the stress in this section.
- The second busiest traffic areas will be the pedal along Riverside Drive and the climb up Delta. The bike lanes and frequent presence of cyclists on these streets help to keep the traffic stress at a moderate level.

Washington Community Development Corporation</a> is excited to announce their <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1936846910145665" target="_blank">Bike Safety Day</a>, generously supported by the Seeds of Change Grant from the City of Cincinnati Office of Environment and Sustainability. Come on out for a fun, family-friendly event focused on promoting bike safety and sustainability in our local Mt. Washington community!

1:00-3:00 PM: Bike Fair (Bike Rodeo, Helmet Fittings, Bike Repairs & Inspections, Food and Games) + Recycling Collection

3:00 PM: Family-Friendly Community Bike Ride

Free Bikes! Are you an elementary school-aged child (12 or under) who doesn’t own a bike? No problem. We will have a couple of new and gently used bikes available to use during the event. These bikes will be raffled off at the end of the event! Please note, you not already own a bike, participate in the Bike Rodeo, and be present for the raffle at 2:50 PM.

Free Bike Helmets, Locks, and Lights: We’ll be distributing these safety items to children who attend this event in person. Priority will be given to those who pre-register and whose family receives any type of food/financial assistance.

Children’s Bike Course & Safety Education: A designated area in the parking lot will feature a small bike course for kids to practice their biking skills safely. Local experts will teach safe biking practices through engaging demonstrations and activities.

Bike Repairs and Maintenance: Several community partners will be on hand offering FREE simple bike repairs and tips on keeping your bike in tip-top shape.

Limited e-Recycling Drop-Off: The Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub will be available for the drop-off of a limited number of items for recycling. Click the link below for the list of accepted items.

Note: The parking lot at Stanbery Park will NOT be accessible to cars during the afternoon of October 26 for this event. Free local parking is available on Oxford Ave and in the surrounding area.

Mt. Washington Bike Safety Fair & Community Bike Ride

Join <a href="https://www.arrowgearandbeer.com" target="_blank">Arrow Adventure</a> and <a href="https://arrowleafco.com/" target="_blank">Arrowleaf Co</a> on Sunday October 27th for the Bikes and Brews Mason Bike Trail Ride!

Feel free to rock your favorite Halloween costume or t-shirts for this all-levels ride, designed to get you outside and enjoying fall trails with other bike and beer lovers.

Meet at <a href="https://sonderbrewing.com/" target="_blank">Sonder Brewing</a> in Mason to check in and to get your goodie bag and ride bracelet. After that, we'll hop on our bikes and head to the <a href="https://commonbeercompany.com/" target="_blank">Common Beer Company</a>, <a href="https://warpedwing.com/" target="_blank">Warped Wing Brewing</a>, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/16lots/" target="_blank">16 Lots Brewing</a> and then end our ride back at Sonder Brewing, just in time to enjoy dinner bites. 

The ride is approximately 13 miles, and we'll spend an hour hanging out and enjoying a cold beer at each of these awesome local breweries. 

Can't ride with the group? Register for the ride and do it on your time, between 1-7 p.m.

All participants will receive a race bracelet for ride group discounts at participating breweries, a goodie bag, and a Brews and Bikes card. Get your card checked off at all four breweries and turn it in by 7 p.m. at Sonder Brewing to register for a raffle prize drawing, Ride day shirts available for an additional $20 charge. 

This adventure is primarily on bike trails, but will cross busy roads at some points. Helmets are required for the ride.

Cancellation Policy: The ride will be cancelled in the event of severe weather, but cards, bracelets, goodie bags and the raffle will still be available to all riders. Drink specials will still be available for those who wish to join at the brewery tour by car, although the schedule may be amended. Refunds of 100% are available 14 days before the event.

Bikes and Brews: Mason Bike Trail – Halloween Edition!

You are cordially invited to join the CROWN Cincinnati Capital Campaign, Xavier University, and the City Of Cincinnati Government in breaking ground on Wasson Way Phase 6B! 🎉

This long-awaited project will extend the trail across Montgomery Rd with a new signalized crosswalk 🚦 and connect to Station Way on XU's campus. 

Upon completion of the XU College of Osteopathic Medicine, the trail will be extended to Dana Ave along the former rail line.
